As a groomer, it pains us to have to resort to shaving a dog completely if the coat has become matted. Not only does your dog suffer from the pain of pulling and messing with the mats, but your four legged companion can also develop skin conditions and sores from bacteria that develop under the mats and it’s often riskier for both the dog and the groomer to clip matted hair as it pulls on skin becoming uncomfortable to remove. This often comes to a head in the cooler winter months, making the suffering double and ongoing if they are left without a suitable coat.

At Groomer 2 You, we work with our clients to implement regular grooming schedules that consider both the dogs living environment, the greater environment in terms of weather and the speed at which your dogs coat replenishes.

Nail trimming

Keeping your dogs nails trimmed is as important for them as it is for you, we all know the feeling of being scratched by your dogs nails, but the risk of having untrimmed nails caught on furniture or growing around and impacting the dogs own pads is a far worse scenario.

At Groomer 2 You, we aim to keep all nails trimmed. Nail trimming is offered as part of regular grooming when it's both required and safe for the dog and the groomer. It is important to note not all dogs are suitable for nail trimming, it will depend on the length of the nail and the quick (vein) within the nail.
